The improvised weapon system, meanwhile, doesn’t add sabang bet  much mechanically, but it’s an undeniable joy to see everything you can whack Nazis with, as well as their varied takedown animations. The Great Circle has simple, line-of-sight stealth, without much in the way of sound propagation, visibility control (camouflage or light/shadow), silent ranged takedowns, or tools for keeping track of enemies (a tagging system or radar). None of that stuff is particularly Indiana Jones, but only one of The Great Circle’s stealth levels feels tailor-made to these limitations.

By that same token, I got plenty of laughs from speeding headlong towards cliff faces, pumping the brakes at the last second, and watching my pursuers blaze right by me and smear themselves against the escarpment. So at least speeder combat seemed as perilous for them as it did for me. Yet at other times it was wildly unpredictable, like when I’d somehow trigger an alarm performing a stealth takedown even though it appeared that no one else was around.

You can also complete quests for the townsfolk, which will earn you money … Little Lighthouse of Horror isn’t your typical jump-scare horror game. Instead, it offers a slow burn, a creeping dread that seeps into your bones as you manage the dwindling resources of a lonely lighthouse keeper.

Like the films, The Great Circle balances zany popcorn action (including an incredible setpiece sequence in the Himalayas mid-adventure) with lighthearted comedy. Some of my favorite exchanges occur between Indy and his fun new companion Gina, a charismatic and strong-willed journalist. She’s a welcomed presence that’s easily Jones’ best sidekick/vague love interest since Marian. Gina fits right at home in the series, to the point that I’m bummed we’ll likely never see her portrayed in a proper film. The same praise can be sung for the big bad, Emmerich Voss, a genuinely despicable and unhinged threat that serves as a great foil. If you were to complete the base experience you’d still get a complete experience filled with exploration, puzzles, and satisfying feelings that you’ve overcome the obstacles that the game has had to offer you.
